The global bar sector will get together digitally this year. The first top-notch speakers featured at BCB Pouring Digital have now also been established: Shannon Mustipher, Tash Conte, Jared Brown and Anastasia Miller, Paul Clarke, Ian Burrell, Oron Lerner, Kiowa Bryan, Greg Bohem and Tim Etherington Judge.
Bar Convent Berlin will be as long as ever – for a total of seven days the digital platform will be open 24/7. The complete programme can be accessed free of charge from 12 to 18 October.

BCB Pouring Digital will encompass three pillars: the first being virtual product presentations and tastings, the second high-quality content, lectures and seminars, and the third, of course, digital networking opportunities

Content

The lecture programme of BCB Pouring Digital will this year once again come care of Angus Winchester and cater to all interests comprising presentations ranging from lectures on the Covid-19 crisis and questions of social justice, to esoteric and “geeky” topics, not forgetting input with a crafts focus. Many of the best-known and influential speakers in the global bar community will be joining the fray. Furthermore, BCB will provide its exhibitors and brands with a platform here to present their innovations and applications for them

Tastings

As part of a unique project, the BCB team will send out a limited number of Tasting Boxes to its international community for a joint virtual tasting. Especially exciting here: New products Box. Interested parties can order these Boxes with different themed content from the BCB Ticketshop. The tasting will then be held in a moderated web session, where you can taste the samples and post comments.

Networking

Networking forms the backbone of BCB – the exchange between visitors from all over the world and the fostering of new business relations. The latter being facilitated by the BCB Matchmaking Platform that brings exhibitors and visitors together by means of online meetings. This platform will propose possible matches in line with the parties’ interests.

Side Events

From 12 to 18 October 2020, the BCB Berlin, Brooklyn and São Paolo and Imbibe Live will unite the global community in the Global Bar Week. During this time, professionals from the bar and beverage scene will be able to network with each other across events and countries. The programme of the respective events can also be accessed globally, including tastings, podium discussions or presentations of the top bars worldwide.

The BCB Team will involve as many bars as possible in the digital trade show. Bars from all over the world can act as a BCB Host and organise smaller events during the BCB Bar Week. These can include video tastings that are then streamed. Bars can apply for participation with immediate effect. The number of bars per city or region will be limited here. This allows a certain number of visitors to experience a live event while the bars benefit from additional exposure to the global community.

The BCB itself will also organise a smaller live event at the Amano Hotel in Berlin. Here a limited number of selected bartenders can take part. Various content of this event will then be made accessible to visitors on the web through live streams.

As part of the “7 Bars in 7 Days” concept, we have planned to present up-and-coming bars from various countries. To this end, the BCB Team is already talking to bars in Singapore, New York and St. Petersburg.
