The Greek Beer Awards 2025 Event Night took place on Friday, May 9, at the Amphitheater “Miltiades Evert” of Technopolis City of Athens, as part of the World of Beer Festival, gathering notable entries from Greece, the Mediterranean, and Eastern Europe.
Organized since 2017 by BeerBartender, the Greek Beer Awards is the only beer competition in Greece to use blind tasting and international evaluation standards. The event continues to highlight the ongoing growth of the brewing sector and the export potential of both Greek craft breweries and international participants.
This year, 50 beers were awarded across 25 categories, with more than 130 entries from countries such as Greece, Italy, Cyprus, and Poland among others.
Notable distinctions include:
- Browar Trzech Kumpli (Poland) – 7 awards
- Hellenic Brewery of Atalanti (Greece) – 6 awards
- Septem Microbrewery (Evia, Greece) – 4 awards
- Protypi Mikrozythopoiia Thessalonikis (Greece) – 3 awards
- Mister B Brewery (Italy) – 3 awards
Special mention goes to the participation of breweries from the Greek islands, which underscore the commercial growth and tourism appeal of regional brewing. Nomadic breweries also made a strong presentation this year, with the top beers of 2025 awarded to:
- Top Ale: Play Punk! by Midnight Circus Gypsy Brewing
- Top Lager: Craft Lager by the historic Craft Microbrewery
The judging panel consisted of international beer experts, led by Maurizio Maestrelli of Italy. As part of the “Judges Experiences” program, judges also visited local breweries and wineries across Attica and Central Greece, showcasing the region’s potential in alternative tourism.
The competition was held under the auspices of the Region of Attica and the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Commerce in Athens.
Registration for the Greek Beer Awards 2026 opens on September 15, 2025, aiming to further amplify the voice of Greek and Mediterranean brewing internationally.
